Special Notes:

  • 9/4/04 ....... 25 Brant fly over hawk watch platform

  • 9/9/04 ....... 60 Greater Yellowlegs pass ove

  • 9/11/04 ....... 17 Common Nighthawks spotted

  • 9/12/04 ....... first big push of broadwings appeared between 4:50PM and 5:20PM; fortunately our vigilant compilers, Andy Fayer & Anita Beaumont, were still on the job. The 9 Bald Eagles were pretty nifty, too.

  • 9/13/2004 ..... today's total takes us over 160,000 raptors tallied at Militia Hill Hawk Watch since its inception..... for a total of 160,156 birds.

  • 9/18/04... The remnants of Hurricane Ivan passed through today

  • 9/19/04...Exciting view of a fish-carrying Osprey attacked by a Bald Eagle who stole its fish in flight. The Osprey tried to retrieve it from the Eagle with no luck. A "non-countable" Cockatiel also put in a surprise visit at the platform.

  • 9/12/04 ....... Common Loons pass over
