Field Trip Car Pool CentralOver the years people have often contacted field trip leaders asking about carpooling to our field trips. As a rule, we have not organized carpools but have tried to informally put people asking this question in touch with each other. We have also recommended coming to meetings and field trips to meet people and ask who might be interested in someday sharing.We would now like to offer the following service to our members and people interested in joining us on field trips. If you are interested in carpooling: either driving your car and sharing expenses with someone or sharing expenses with someone willing to do the driving let either Joe Wilkes or myself know. We will maintain a list of people interested in carpooling, their phone numbers and e-mail addresses (if available). We will not arrange the carpools or work out the details but when someone contacts us about carpooling we will share names of other people interested in carpooling. When providing us your contact information it would be helpful to know if you are interested in a particular trip or carpooling in general. Please let us know in well in advance of a field trip if you are interested in carpooling. That will give you the best chance to actually find someone to share the drive and work out the details.
